Clapperboard Studios (The Teacher, The Holiday) has secured the TV rights for Uncut, a drama based on Chris Thompson’s semi-autobiographical podcast Two Foreskins Walk into a Bar.

Uncut follows British playwright Chris Thompson as he heads to New York City after destroying his ten-year relationship and with his career spiraling. Once he arrives, he meets a man named Lionel and falls unexpectedly in love. When Lionel disappears without a trace, Chris goes on a hunt to track him down.

The mystery takes Chris on a journey of sexual liberation and self-discovery, taking him through the cruising grounds, libraries and sex clubs of New York. Every man he meets brings him a step closer to finding out the truth about what happened to Lionel.

Thompson has already developed the Two Foreskins Walk into a Bar podcast into a live one-man show of the same name for New York’s cabaret circuit. The Uncut series will be developed by Clapperboard Studios.

Uncut is beautifully filthy and has an energy and authenticity which really excited us,” said Mike Benson, executive producer and managing director at Clapperboard Studios. “Chris is a unique talent and voice and brings a combination of heartbreak and hilarity to everything he writes.”

Thompson added, “With Clapperboard’s incredible track record, there’s no one else I’d trust more to help me bring the story of my slutty sexual reawakening to life. They share my vision for this piece, and they have a commitment to authorial voice, which means I feel right at home with them.”
