AGC Television has optioned the Ben Walker supernatural thriller franchise by author Christopher Golden to develop into a series.

The New York Times best-selling author began the Ben Walker series with 2017’s Ararat, continued this April with The Pandora Room and in 2020 with the third novel in the series, Red Hands. The central character is a self-described “weird s**t expert” working for a secret arm of the Department of Defense to investigate newly discovered phenomena—both natural and supernatural—to ensure these occurrences cannot be used as weapons against the U.S. (and to find out if they can be used as weapons by the U.S.).

Golden will write the pilot script. AGC is aiming to go into production in late 2019, with the first season focused on the supernatural thriller Ararat.

AGC Television President Lourdes Diaz said: “AGC Television is thrilled to be working with Chris Golden. We are looking forward to bringing his rich, immersive world to life through the eyes of Ben Walker in this thrilling action-packed television series.”
