CBC has commissioned a new original one-hour series, Feudal, created by Sheri Elwood (Call Me Fitz, Lucifer).

Produced by Six Eleven Media and Entertainment One (eOne), the 8×1-hour drama tells the story of the Finley-Cullens, a dysfunctional clan of adult half-siblings battling for control of their family business, The Moonshine, a ramshackle summer resort on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Production is underway for a planned 2021 broadcast on CBC.

Jennifer Finnigan (Salvation) stars alongside Anastasia Phillips (Reign), Emma Hunter (Mr. D), Tom Stevens (Wayward Pines), Alexander Nunez (Avocado Toast), Corrine Koslo (Anne with an E), Peter MacNeill (This Life), Erin Darke (Good Girls Revolt, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Farid Yazdani (Suits), Allegra Fulton (The Shape of Water) and Jonathan Silverman (Weekend at Bernie’s).

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be telling this story with my partners at eOne, Charles Bishop and CBC,” said Elwood. “It’s a love letter to the place where I grew up, a passion project brought to life by a wildly talented cast, led by the glorious Jennifer Finnigan.”

“Feudal is an authentic east coast story with broad appeal, featuring an irresistibly flawed family of characters and a multi-layered, dramatic storyline with strong comedic elements,” said Sally Catto, general manager of entertainment, factual and sports at CBC. “As production begins in Nova Scotia, we look forward to seeing Sheri’s distinctive vision and voice brought to life by this brilliant ensemble cast.”

“Working with Sheri and the team at eOne has been a dream and we are very excited to be shooting this important live-action series for CBC in our home province of Nova Scotia,” said Six Eleven Media’s CEO and executive producer, Charles Bishop.

“We are thrilled to work with Sheri on a new series along with our partners at CBC and Charles Bishop,” said Jocelyn Hamilton, eOne’s president of Canada for television. “Featuring a stellar cast and biting comedic writing, Feudal will build on Sheri’s previous work exploring dysfunctional family relationships.”
