Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures are co-producing the revenge thriller series Kill Jackie (w.t.), starring Catherine Zeta-Jones (Chicago, Wednesday), for Prime Video.
Zeta-Jones plays Jackie Price, who has been living a wealthy, luxurious existence for the last 20 years—traveling the world, selling fine art using sophisticated tax loopholes and, above all, trying to stay anonymous after escaping a dangerous past as an international cocaine dealer. Just as life starts to feel a little boring, it takes a sudden lethal turn when she discovers The Seven Demons, a squad of the world’s most terrifying hitmen, have been hired to kill her.
It is based on the novel The Price You Pay by Nick Harkaway, writing as Aidan Truhen (Karla’s Choice, Tigerman). Lead director is Damon Thomas (Killing Eve), with writer and showrunner Tom Butterworth (Gangs of London). Conor Keane created and co-wrote the TV adaptation and is associate producer.
