BritBox’s Murder in Provence Adds Patricia Hodge & Geff Francis to Cast

BritBox UK and BritBox North America have commenced production in the U.K. and France on Murder in Provence, with Patricia Hodge and Geff Francis joining the cast.

The series follows Antoine Verlaque (Roger Allam), an investigating judge in Aix-en-Provence, and criminal psychologist and romantic partner Marine Bonnet (Nancy Carroll) as they investigate the murders, mysteries and dark underbelly of their idyllic home. Hodge has been cast as Florence Bonnet, Marine’s mother; and Geff Francis has taken the role of Police Commissioner François Roussel.

Based on the books by M.L. Longworth, Murder in Provence is BritBox UK and BritBox North America’s first pan-territory original. The series will debut exclusively on BritBox UK and BritBox North America in 2022.

Murder in Provence is being adapted for the screen by playwright Shelagh Stephenson (Shirley, Before You Go, Downton Abbey) and directed by Chloe Thomas (The Deceived, Harlots, Victoria). It is produced by Monumental Television, part of ITV Studios. ITV Studios is distributing internationally.
