The Golden Globe- and BAFTA award-winning drama Bodyguard has been licensed by ITV Studios for second windows around the world, including in Australia, France, Germany and Japan.

Created by Jed Mercurio and produced by World Productions for BBC One and Netflix, the six-part event series has been acquired by Seven Network in Australia, Vision TV in English-speaking Canada, Télé-Québec in French-speaking Canada, TVB in Hong Kong, Tohokushinsha in Japan, Cineplex in Thailand, CJ ENM in South Korea and TVNZ in New Zealand. Across Europe, sales include France 2, ZDF and Edel in Germany, RAI in Italy, Paramount Network in Spain, Friday! TV Channel in Russia, RTS for French-speaking Switzerland, Virgin Media for Ireland, HRT in Croatia, RTV in Slovenia, Latvian TV and Lithuanian Radio and Television.

Sitting outside of Netflix’s global footprint, China’s Huanxi acquired the show in May last year.

Ruth Berry, managing director of global distribution at ITV Studios, said, “Bodyguard is a drama which needs little introduction, we’re honored to represent one of the U.K.’s most phenomenal hits thanks to the brilliance of Jed Mercurio and World Productions and are delighted that it is being enjoyed by an even wider audience as a result of these additional sales.”
