The BBC has acquired the Australian crime drama Black Snow from All3Media International.

The six-part series stars Travis Fimmel (Vikings, Danger Close), Jemmason Power, Talijah Blackman-Corowa, Eden Cassady, Seini Willett and Gulliver McGrath (Dark Shadows, Lincoln). It is set to air on BBC Four and will be available on BBC iPlayer.

Produced by Goalpost Pictures for Stan in Australia and Sundance Now in the U.S., Black Snow is set in small-town Australia and centers on the murder case of a young girl re-opened 20 years later when a time capsule reveals cryptic messages.

Sue Deeks, head of BBC program acquisition, said: “Australia’s South Sea Island community is the fascinating setting for this dark and haunting murder mystery—its twists and turns will keep viewers guessing until the very end.”
