Apple TV’s Slates Cape Fear Release

Apple TV’s Cape Fear, executive produced by creator Nick Antosca, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, is slated to debut on June 5.

Starring Javier Bardem, Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson, the new thriller is inspired by Scorsese and Spielberg’s 1991 remake of the 1962 film starring Gregory Peck.

The series follows as the lives of happily married attorneys Anna and Tom are thrown into disarray when the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars is let out of prison.

CCH Pounder, Joe Anders, Lily Collias, Jamie Hector, Malia Pyles and Anna Baryshnikov round out the ensemble cast.

Cape Fear is produced by UCP and Amblin Television. It is based on both the novel The Executioners, which inspired Gregory Peck’s Universal Pictures feature in 1962, as well as the the 1991 remake directed by Scorsese. The series is being developed and produced through Antosca’s overall deal at UCP, where he has been based since 2017.
