Apple TV+ is set to adapt Blake Crouch’s best-selling book Dark Matter as a nine-episode series starring and executive produced by Joel Edgerton (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Boy Erased, Loving).

Dark Matter follows physicist, professor and family man Jason Dessen, played by Edgerton, who is abducted into an alternate version of his life. To get back to his true family, he embarks on a harrowing journey through the multiverse.

The series will be produced for Apple TV+ by Sony Pictures Television. Matt Tolmach (Jumanji franchise, Venom, Future Man) and David Manpearl will executive produce for Matt Tolmach Productions. Crouch will write the pilot script and serve as showrunner and executive producer, while Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me, Lupin, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance) will direct the first four episodes.
