Andrew Davies’ Originals Available via BBC Store

LONDON: To mark the 80th birthday of Andrew Davies (War and Peace, Pride and Prejudice, House of Cards), BBC Store has made a collection of nine previously unreleased works from the acclaimed screenwriter available for download.

The shows are featured in the Andrew Davies: Originals collection, which focuses on Davies’ original creations rather than his celebrated literary adaptations. This includes Davies’ earliest available BBC drama, Is That Your Body Boy, which was commissioned for the Thirty Minute Theatre slot.

The Andrew Davies: Originals collection is available for viewers to buy as digital downloads on BBC Store. With the exception of A Very Peculiar Practice, all have been unavailable for viewers to purchase until now. All have been released on Davies’ 80th birthday today, apart from Inappropriate Behaviour, which will be available from September 22, following the BFI screening.

Davies said: “I’m delighted and proud. They were written by a much younger Andrew Davies. But most of all I’m thrilled and very interested to see what people make of them.”
