all3media international Boards Scandi Drama Blinded

all3media international has invested in its first Scandinavian drama, Blinded.

The company is working on the project with FLX, C More, TV4 and Filmregion Stockholm—Mälardalen/Film Capital. The partnership will see all3media international joining in the co-production on Blinded, which will start filming later this year, and distributing the drama in the international market.

Based on the book by investigative journalist Carolina Neurath, Blinded is a thriller inspired by real events, set in Stockholm’s financial quarter.

FLX is co-developing the series with local streaming service C More and Swedish broadcaster TV4.

Josefine Tengblad, the head of drama at TV4 and C More, said: “TV4 and C More have a strong track record of launching successful Swedish drama series and original productions. With the thrilling drama series Blinded we expand our growing drama slate. We love that we have a smart, intelligent young woman in the lead role and that it is based on a true story. Jens Jonsson is a very talented director and we look forward to seeing this exciting story, FLX’s first thriller, come to life.”

Pontus Edgren, managing partner at FLX, added: “Blinded is a finance thriller set in the very heart of Stockholm’s Wall Street, where old money meets new money. It’s a world that affects us deeply every day yet most of us know very little about it. We’ve always been fascinated by the arena and believe it makes great drama. To portray this complex world we could not be happier to have on board Sweden’s leading business journalist and novelist Carolina Neurath, conceptual director Jens Jonsson, head writer Jesper Harrie, and co-writers Maria Karlsson and Jonas Bonnier. Blinded is a character-driven thriller that follows a set of far from perfect individuals confronting extraordinary circumstances.”

Louise Pedersen, CEO at all3media international, commented: “We’re very pleased to come on board this top-notch Scandinavian thriller. Blinded is a contemporary, timely and intriguing story set in the cutthroat world of high finance, and we’re confident it will be in strong demand in the global market. The drama boasts a lineup of acclaimed creative talents and is the perfect project for our first key investment in the region. A major part of our ongoing strategy is to expand the global breadth and scope of our drama portfolio—and that breadth includes looking tactically beyond English-language investments.”
