Jelani Alladin (The Walking Dead: World Beyond), Noah J. Ricketts (American Gods) and Linus Roache (Batman Begins, Homeland) have joined the lead cast of Showtime’s limited series Fellow Travelers.

Based on the novel by Thomas Mallon, Fellow Travelers chronicles the romance of two very different men who meet in the shadow of McCarthy-era Washington. The lead cast also includes Matt Bomer, Jonathan Bailey and Allison Williams.

Bomer plays Hawkins Fuller, who maintains a financially rewarding, behind-the-scenes career in politics. He avoids emotional entanglements, until he meets Tim Laughlin, played by Bailey, a young man brimming with idealism and religious faith. They begin a romance just as McCarthyism starts to take hold. Over the course of four decades, Fuller and Laughlin cross paths through the Vietnam War protests of the ’60s, the disco hedonism of the ’70s and the AIDS crisis of the ’80s.

The limited series is created by Academy Award nominee Ron Nyswaner (Philadelphia, Homeland). Bomer and Nyswaner are executive producing with Robbie Rogers (All American, My Policeman). Daniel Minahan (Halston, American Crime Story: Versace) will executive produce and direct the first two episodes.

Fellow Travelers is co-produced by Showtime and Fremantle and is set to go into production in Toronto later this month.
