SEOUL: CJ E&M’s drama producing affiliation, Studio Dragon, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Warner Bros.-owned streaming service DramaFever to co-produce Korean dramas intended for global audiences.

Studio Dragon and DramaFever are planning to develop and produce two originals within the next three years. The outfits will be discussing ways to work on remakes of existing films and TV dramas.

The new pact continues an existing partnership between CJ E&M and DramaFever. The video-streaming service utilized CJ’s popular Korean culture convention, called KCON, as its key marketing tool to interact with audiences who are avid fans of Korean pop culture.

Jinnie Choi, the president of Studio Dragon, said: “Studio Dragon is determined to become Asia’s number one drama studio, and in order to reach the goal, we plan to work with industry leaders home and abroad to provide unrivaled content for audiences. We’re bolstering our competitiveness in content development, storytelling and production through various international partnerships and co-production deals.”
