Top Scripted Buyers on Board for TV Drama Festival

Sky’s Katie Keenan, RTÉ’s Dermot Horan, MultiChoice’s Waldimar Pelser, SVT’s Karolina Stallwood and TV 2 Denmark’s Lars Erik Nielsen are set for a panel on scripted acquisition strategies during the TV Drama Festival, taking place October 3 to 5. You can register here for free.

Keenan is Sky’s group director of acquisitions for the U.K., Ireland and Europe. Horan is director of acquisitions and co-productions at Ireland’s RTÉ. Pelser is channel director for premium channels at MultiChoice in South Africa. Stallwood is the head of SVT International at the public-service broadcaster in Sweden. Nielsen is acquisitions executive at TV 2 Denmark. Together, the executives will discuss their buying and programming strategies for scripted and current needs for drama acquisitions.

The second edition of the TV Drama Festival will feature keynotes and panels with leading executives and creatives discussing the major trends in the business of scripted series today. It will be streamed live and available on-demand on TVDramaFestival.com. Unlike other events requiring hefty registration fees, attendance to the TV Drama Festival is free. World Screen’s festivals have an average of 1,700 registered participants and approximately 18,000 views.

They join the previously announced participants: Two Brothers Pictures’ Sarah Hammond, Fremantle’s Christian Vesper, Banijay’s Christian Wikander, A+E Networks’ Alexandra Finlay, All3Media International’s David Swetman and Global Screen’s Ulrike Schröder.
