Boat Rocker Studios Sells Series to AMC Networks

Boat Rocker Studios has sold the scripted series Mix Tape to AMC Networks.

The deal grants AMC Networks exclusive streaming rights to the series in the U.S. and co-exclusive rights in Canada, where Mix Tape is also available on CBC Gem. It will debut on AMC+ and Acorn TV in 2026.

Jumping between Sheffield, England in 1989 and the modern day, Mix Tape follows Daniel and Alison, who fell in love as teenagers exchanging mix tapes. The series stars Teresa Palmer, Jim Sturgess, Florence Hunt and Rory Walton-Smith.

Mix Tape is a smart, nostalgic series that captures how music, memory and connection shape us,” said Brad Horvath, VP of content sales and distribution at Boat Rocker Studios. “It’s got a great cast, killer soundtrack and a love story that stays with you—all paired with the central question of what really happened between Alison and Daniel. We’re excited to partner with AMC Networks to share it with U.S. audiences.”

Mix Tape is the kind of sophisticated storytelling our viewers appreciate and is the perfect addition to both AMC+ and Acorn TV’s lineup of distinctive international dramas,” said Don Klees, senior VP of programming, Acorn TV. “We’re thrilled to offer this award-winning series exclusively to our U.S. subscribers.”
