STARZ Acquires The Couple Next Door Season Two

STARZ is bringing its subscribers the second season of Channel 4’s psychological drama The Couple Next Door on September 19.

“This seductive series instantly struck a chord with women, with particularly strong appeal for our large, engaged base of Outlander viewers,” said Alison Hoffman, president of STARZ Networks. “High-performing acquisitions like The Couple Next Door play a key role in STARZ’s continued success, expanding our distinctive slate of premium programming for adult audiences.”

The six-episode installment features an all-new cast, including Annabel Scholey, Sam Palladio, Aggy K. Adams and Sendhil Ramamurthy. From season one, Hugh Dennis is set to return. Season one ranks among STARZ’s highest-performing acquisitions.

The Couple Next Door is loosely adapted from the Scandi drama Dopamin, created by Kamikaze Film, and the Dutch format The Neighbors, made by Millstreet Films, which season one was based on. Produced in association with Happy Duck Films and supported by the Belgian Tax Shelter, it is distributed by Beta Film.

The Couple Next Door is written by David Allison with director Dries Vos, who are both also serving as executive producers. Jo McGrath and Walter Iuzzolino of Eagle Eye Drama, part of ITV Studios, are executive producers.
