Video Interview: Behind the Scenes of Berlin ER

A former emergency room physician-turned-screenwriter, Samuel Jefferson tapped into his experience from the chaotic hospital setting when co-creating Berlin ER. The German-language medical drama, which makes its global debut on Apple TV+ on February 26, with new episodes released weekly on Wednesdays through April 9, saw Jefferson work with Viktor Jakovleski to bring the energy and dark humor of doctors working in the ER to life on screen.

Haley Louise Jones (Dear ChildParadise) and Slavko Popadić (Crooks) star as doctors working amid the underpaid, ill-equipped and chronically fatigued hospital staff who only survive with an indispensable dose of black humor.

Jefferson, Jones and Popadić talk to TV Drama Weekly about the fast-paced series and being authentic to the grittiness, commotion and gallows humor of hospital workers.
