Crypto Drama Paper Empire Set for MIP London Premiere

The action-drama Paper Empire, from creator, writer and director Robert Gillings, is slated to make its international premiere at the upcoming inaugural MIP London.

The cast includes Wesley Snipes, Steve Guttenberg, Cuba Gooding Jr., Denise Richards and Kelsey Grammer. The story centers on Laurence Fintch, played by Robert Davi (The Goonies, License To Kill, Die Hard), a financial wizard who becomes the world’s biggest crypto fraudster and brings forth global financial armageddon.

Paper Empire is produced by Robert Gillings Productions, Tadross Media Group and Inner Circle Films.

The pilot of the independently produced series, filmed across multiple international locations, will be screened for the first time on February 25 at 6 p.m. at the IET London on Savoy Place with Gillings, Davi and fellow cast member Carol Alt in attendance.

Paper Empire is ambitious, independent and its premise could not be timelier,” said Lucy Smith, director of MIP London and MIPCOM CANNES. “Its premiere at MIP London further delivers on our promise of staging a strong inaugural program during London’s biggest week of content.”

Gillings said, “I am thrilled to be premiering Paper Empire’s pilot episode at the inaugural MIP London; it will certainly be epic.”
