The Pitt, a new medical series from John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television, is set to bow on Max on January 9.

Aiming to portray the challenges facing today’s healthcare workers across America, each of the 15 episodes follows an hour of Dr. Michael Robinavitch’s 15-hour shift as the chief attendant in the emergency room at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital. Noah Wyle (ER, The Librarian, Falling Skies) stars in the lead role.

In addition to Wyle, the series features Tracey Ifeachor, Patrick Ball, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez and Katherine LaNasa.

The Pitt is created by R. Scott Gemmill, who wrote the first episode. He executives produces as well, alongside Wyle; John Wells (Animal Kingdom, Shameless, The West Wing, ER); and John Wells Productions’ Erin Jontow (Emperor Of Ocean Park, Rescue: HI-Surf, Maid), Simran Baidwan (Manifest, Ordinary Joe, The Good Doctor, Chicago Med) and Michael Hissrich (Shameless, The West Wing, Third Watch).
