Eccho Rights has picked up the international distribution rights to the daily Turkish drama A Journey to Belong.

In the series, Münevver’s life is upended when a girl named Yasemin shows up at her door with her 5-year-old sister Mine and declares that the child will live there from now on. Münevver refuses until she recognizes a necklace around Mine’s neck. Mine turns out to be her estranged daughter’s child, and Münevver must prepare for old wounds to reopen and secrets to surface.

A Journey to Belong is produced by Royal Pictures for Kanal D in Turkey, where it premiered in September under the local title Bizi Birleştiren Hayat. It is written by Berrin Tezcan Dağçınar, directed by Ayhan Özdemir and produced by Saner Ayar and Berkin Kaya for Royal Pictures.

“We are really excited for A Journey to Belong, a multi-generational family drama that will grip audiences day after day,” said Handan Özkubat, director of Turkish drama at Eccho Rights. “The international demand for daily drama series with a premium feel has been growing over the years, and this title perfectly fits the brief.”
