Patricia Arquette to Star in Murdaugh Murders Drama for Hulu

Hulu has ordered an as-yet-untitled limited drama series about the Murdaugh murders from co-creator and showrunner Michael D. Fuller (Quarry, Rectify, Locke & Key) and co-creator Erin Lee Carr (Britney vs SpearsI Love You, Now DieMommy Dead and Dearest).

Patricia Arquette (Medium, Escape at Dannemora, Severance) has been signed to star as Maggie Murdaugh. The series is based on Maggie and Alex Murdaugh’s stranger-than-fiction family drama, drawing from reporting by Mandy Matney (journalist and creator of the Murdaugh Murders Podcast), as well as exclusive, insider knowledge from years spent following the case.

Nick Antosca (A Friend of the Family, The Act, Candy) and Alex Hedlund for Eat the Cat will executive produce along with Mandy Matney. UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.

Arquette, Eat the Cat, Hulu and UCP have a successful history together, having launched the hit limited series The Act, for which Arquette won the Emmy Award for outstanding supporting actress.
