Seoul International Drama Awards Selects 2023 Nominees

The nominees for the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards have been selected, with 24 programs and 30 individuals up for awards.

In the series category, four titles from China, two from Greece and one each from Taiwan and Colombia are nominated. The miniseries category, meanwhile, features nominees from Belgium, France, Norway, South Korea, the Netherlands, Iran and China.

Up for best series are A Dream of Splendor from Tencent Video (China); Act Like You’re Asleep from ERT (Greece); El Rey, Vicente Fernández from Caracol Television (Colombia); Meet Yourself from China Huace Film&TV (China); Still Me from Tzu Chi Culture and Communication Foundation (Taiwan); The Oath season two from ERT (Greece); The Story of XingFu from Youku (China); and Till the End of the Moon from Youku (China).

Miniseries nominees are 1985 from Eyeworks Film & TV Drama (Belgium); Addict from Newen Connect (France); Afterglow from Monster AS (Norway); Anna from Coupang Play (South Korea); Legacy from Newen Connect (the Netherlands); Reborn Rich from SLL (South Korea); The Actor from HA International (Iran); and The Long Season from Tencent Video (China).

In the TV movie category, nominees are Accused: Scott’s Story from Sony Pictures Television (the U.S.); As Loud As You Can from ZDF Studios (Germany); Babel Syndrome from CJ ENM (South Korea); Belascoarán PI from Perro Azul (Mexico); Mayflies from All3Media International (the U.K.); Neighbours from RTP (Portugal); Song of Four Seasons from Radio Television Hong Kong (Hong Kong); and The Fragile Colossus from Newen Connect (France).

Best director nominees are Jin Sha and Yu Bo for A Date with the Future (Drama Apple Limited); Yang Yang for A Dream of Splendor (Tencent Video); Atle Knudsen for Afterglow (Monster AS); Ernesto Contreras and Hiromi Kamata for Belascoarán PI (Perro Azul); Stéphanie Murat for The Fragile Colossus (Newen Connect); Shuang Xin for The Long Season (Tencent Video); and Christos Georgiou for The Oath season two (ERT).

Nominees in the screenwriter category are Wei Zhang for A Dream of Splendor (Tencent Video); Gianni Skaragas for Act Like You’re Asleep (ERT); Kjetil Indregard and Mads Løken for Afterglow (Monster AS); Chan-young Lee for Babel Syndrome (CJ ENM); Nima Javidi for The Actor (HA International); and Sébastien Boueilh and Aude Marcle for The Fragile Colossus (Newen Connect).

Up for best actor are Michael Chiklis (Accused: Scott’s Story), Spyros Papadopoulos (Act Like You’re Asleep), Navid Mohammadzadeh (The Actor), Oktay Kaynarca (The Father), Eric Cantona (The Fragile Colossus) and Wei Fan (The Long Season).

In the best actress category, nominees are Yifei Liu (A Dream of Splendor), Emili Koliandri (Act Like You’re Asleep), Nina Ellen Ødegård (Afterglow), Suzy (Anna), Aleeza Chanowiz (Chanshi), Natalina José (Neighbours) and Anna Schudt (The Mayoress).

The winners will be presented at the awards ceremony on September 21. It will be broadcast live on KBS2TV. The awards are sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Seoul Metropolitan Government; KBS; MBC; SBS; EBS; and CBS.
