CTV and Crave have given a straight-to-series order for the new original drama Sullivan’s Crossing, based on best-selling author Robyn Carr’s books.

Reel World Management, which previously adapted Carr’s Virgin River for the screen, will produce Sullivan’s Crossing. The show will follow Maggie Sullivan as she returns home to her estranged father after she is caught in a media storm due to her husband’s indictment for fraud.

The 10×1-hour series will explore fresh starts, budding relationships, embracing past mistakes and living outside of one’s comfort zone. It will air and stream in both English and French.

Roma Roth will serve as showrunner and executive producer on behalf of Reel World Management, with Christopher E. Perry also executive producing.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Reel World Management to adapt Robyn Carr’s beloved Sullivan’s Crossing novels to series,” said Justin Stockman, VP of content development and programming at Bell Media. “The creative team behind Sullivan’s Crossing have a proven record of adapting and producing relatable, emotional stories that make for highly addictive, must-see content. We cannot wait to bring Canadian viewers their new soon-to-be favorite drama series.”

“We are excited to be partnering with CTV and Crave to bring to life yet another of Robyn Carr’s best-selling novels,” said Roth. “We look forward to delivering another series that will resonate deeply with the dedicated fan base who have helped make Virgin River such an international success.”

Carr said, “I’m delighted that Roma and the creative forces at Reel World Management are partnering with CTV and Crave to develop Sullivan’s Crossing. With such a dedicated and talented team on board, this latest adaptation is certain to be a success in Canada and around the world.”

Production and casting details will be released in the coming months.
