The Rule of Three Book Series Set for TV Treatment

The Vancouver-based Mad Samurai Productions is working with writer Lynne Kamm (Transplant, 19-2) to bring Eric Walters’ YA book series The Rule of Three to television.

The Rule of Three novels include the three in the series, along with the spin-off novel, Fourth Dimension. The story begins with a catastrophic event that permanently shuts down everything computerized worldwide—communication is cut-off, resources dwindle, crises mount and chaos descends.

Kamm commented: “With The Rule of Three Eric invites us into the vibrant, complex, messy lives of youth as they crash into adulthood just as the world around them changes the rules. It’s a big story told through an intimate lens with all the winning ingredients: heart, humor and humanity.”

Executive Producer Matthew Cervi said: “The rich post-apocalyptic world that Eric created is a parable that audiences will relate to. The moment I started reading the books I was hooked. Lynne is a prolific writer and showrunner whom I’ve known for years and I’m thrilled to finally be working with her on such dynamic material.”

Walters added: “I feel that the project is in excellent hands, and I’m thrilled to be working with the team on adapting The Rule of Three for the screen.”
