BritBox Adds Downton Abbey to Period Drama Offer

Downton Abbey, written and created by Julian Fellowes, is set to join the collection of period dramas on BritBox in North America in December.

All six seasons of the series will become available on the service, which also counts in its catalog such titles as North and South, A Tale of Two Cities, Sense & Sensibility, Middlemarch, Wuthering Heights, The Paradise and more. Downton Abbey is produced by Carnival Films, which is a part of NBCUniversal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Set in 20th-century England, Downton Abbey follows the dramatic lives and times of the Crawley family and their servants as they live through the Titanic tragedy, WWI and navigate the roaring ’20s. Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Lily James, Allen Leech and Dame Maggie Smith star.
