The Cry Lands on BritBox

DRG has signed its first deal with BritBox, with a package that includes British comedy and drama titles.

Synchronicity Films’ The Cry arrives on BritBox on January 23. The four-parter stars Jenna Coleman (Victoria) and Ewen Leslie (Safe Harbour).

BritBox also picked up three seasons of the comedy Detectorists, which is now available. The other titles in the DRG package, which will be made available to BritBox subscribers early in 2020, are all three seasons of Tracey Ullman’s Show as well as Babylon.

Elin Thomas, DRG’s executive VP of sales, commented: “DRG has a terrific catalog of great British content, created by some of the U.K.’s premier producers, so naturally we are enthusiastic supporters of BritBox and thrilled to have some of our titles join the lineup so soon after launch.

“BritBox is also a wonderful platform to showcase the talented actors, writers and directors in this country and in some cases, such as Babylon writer and co-creator Jesse Armstrong, to remind us of the incredible work they had already produced long before Hollywood came calling.”
