NATPE Spotlight: GMA Worldwide

GMA Worldwide is highlighting three family dramas at NATPE, including Prima Donnas, the story of three heiresses and the pursuit of their real identities and rights in their family.

“The most common genre that broadcasters look for is heavy drama, with themes focused on betrayal and revenge,” says Roxanne J. Barcelona, the company’s VP. “We find that the audience is attracted to these themes because of the intrigue and the controversies, and they see these dramas as a form of escape from their day-to-day routine.”

Meanwhile, A Place in Your Heart is about a young stepmother who fights for the love of her husband and stepchildren against an evil ex-wife, while Broken Faith follows as a daughter suffers at the hands of her boss, who turns out to be her father’s scheming first wife.

“GMA will continue to produce more than 1,000 hours of dramas per year with the global audience in mind,” adds Barcelona.
