Netflix Orders Adaptation of Katie Cappiello’s Play Slut

Grand Army, a series based on the play Slut from playwright Katie Cappiello, is set for Netflix.

The series will center on public high school students in Brooklyn as they deal with sexual, racial and economic politics. Odessa A’zion, Maliq Johnson, Amalia Yoo, Amir Bageria and Odley Jean will star in the drama, which Cappiello is co-producing with Beau Willimon.

Cappiello, who has worked as a teacher for 15 years, also counts among her works Now That We’re Men, A Day In The Life, Her Story, Uncut and Joy. Best known for serving as showrunner for the first four seasons of House of Cards, Willimon’s other credits include Mary Queen of Scots, The First and Ides of March.
