Euphoria Renewed for Season Two

HBO has renewed Euphoria, its new teen-focused series starring Zendaya, for a second season.

Created and written by Sam Levinson, Euphoria follows a group of high school students as they navigate a minefield of drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship. It centers on Rue Bennett (Zendaya), a drug-addicted 17-year-old who is struggling to make sense of her future. After a near-fatal overdose and a stint in rehab, her life changes when she strikes up a friendship with Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer), a transgender girl who recently moved into town with her father.

In addition to Zendaya and Schafer, Euphoria stars Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Algee Smith and Sydney Sweeney. The series premiere has delivered more than 5.5 million viewers across HBO’s platforms since its debut on June 16. The eight-episode series airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on HBO.
