Tricon Secures Sales for IFC Programming

TORONTO: Tricon Films & Television has licensed a number of scripted shows, including IFC’s Comedy Bang! Bang! and Bunk, to broadcasters around the world.

Presented by Scott Aukerman, Comedy Bang! Bang! is a talk show that features appearances from such guests as Seth Rogen, Amy Poehler and Zach Galifianakis. Bunk watches as comedians compete in absurd challenges to win unusual prizes. Both titles have been snapped up by Bell Media’s The Comedy Network in Canada, where they will debut on Friday, July 26 at 12 a.m. and 12:30 a.m.

Comedy Bang! Bang! has also been acquired by SBS Australia, SVT Sweden and AV Jest Airways Taiwan, while Bunk has also been taken on by SBS’s Studio Australia and A-Team Media Ancillary in Korea. Beyond Entertainment went for the DVD rights for both programs in New Zealand and Australia.

Other sales include Michael: Tuesdays and Thursdays to Sweden’s SVT and Australia’s SBS Studio; Insecurity to Korea’s A-Team Media Ancillary; and House Party to Sidetick TV in the U.S. In addition, Italy’s RAI SAT, Romania’s Antena TV Group and Qatar’s Pyramid Entertainment have respectively licensed season four, seasons one and two and seasons one through four of Sanctuary.
