Tom Perlmutter Re-Ups with NFB for Five-Year Term

GATINEAU: Tom Perlmutter has been reappointed as the government film commissioner and chairperson of the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) for a term of five years.

Prior to his appointment as the head of the NFB, Perlmutter was the director general of the organization’s English program. He also worked as an executive producer and partner of Primitive Entertainment, producing docs and new-media productions.

“I am pleased to announce that Mr. Perlmutter has agreed to continue to serve with distinction as Head of the National Film Board,” said James Moore, the minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages. “The NFB will continue to benefit from his wealth of experience and leadership. His dedication to the film industry and his commitment to the NFB’s digitization initiative will continue to be highly valuable to the organization.”
