shomi Clinches eOne Movies & Series

TORONTO: Canadian SVOD service shomi has signed a content deal with Entertainment One (eOne) for more than 175 movies, which are set to launch on the streaming hub next month.

The titles range across a variety of genres, with features including the drama Tinker Tailor Solider Spy, the animated family film Gnomeo & Juliet, the Canadian cult comedy Fubar and the romance Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, among others. Through the deal, shomi has also secured exclusive Canadian streaming rights for Showtime’s series Web Therapy, the BBC comedy The Trip and the hit children’s show Peppa Pig.

“From classics to guilty pleasures, these new eOne titles take our movie catalogue to the next level,” said Marni Shulman, the head of content and programming at shomi. “This deal is a movie-lover’s dream.”
