TORONTO: New comScore research finds that 16 percent of Canadian adults say they no longer watch any traditional TV and exclusively stream content online.

The findings also show that 45 percent of respondents say they watch both TV and online video content, 35 percent just watch TV and 4 percent watch neither.

It is the younger viewers who are more likely to be cord cutters; around one in four respondents aged 18 to 24 say they are a cord cutter, as did one in five of respondents 25 to 34. Only about 15 percent of those over 35 say they have cut the cord. Consumers over 45 are the mostly likely to only watch TV.

Though this amount for cord cutting is still relatively small, its growth has been significant. Among those 18 to 24, the number of cord cutters has grown by 60 percent since 2010. The growth rate for those 25 to 34 is 270 percent for the same period.
