Former CTV & Corus Exec Joanna Webb Joins Shaftesbury

TORONTO: Shaftesbury has hired Joanna Webb for the newly created role of senior VP of content strategy.

Webb most recently served as managing director fo Mojojo Media. Prior to founding the company, Webb was the senior VP of programming at CTV. Before this, she spent 15 years at Corus Entertainment. She has been instrumental in launching a slew of networks in Canada, including E!, Cosmopolitan Television, OWN, W Movies and Discovery Kids.

Reporting to Christina Jenning, the chairman and CEO of Shaftesbury, Webb will be working to set priorities and align content strategies across all genres and divisions. She will also be working to pursue branded content opportunities and distribution partnerships with third-party producers.

"Joanna brings a wealth of experience with many of the industry's top broadcasters to Shaftesbury," said Jennings. "With a proven track record driving audience growth across multiple genres and platforms, she will not only help us find our place in the unscripted space, but will also be a great asset to the company as genres continue to evolve and digital and branded become increasingly important parts of the equation."
