NEW YORK/TORONTO: Entertainment One (eOne) has scored worldwide distribution rights for Kattpacalypse 2012, the comedian/actor Katt Williams’ New Year’s Eve comedy special.

Kattpacalypse 2012 marks the beginning of eOne’s distribution partnership with Williams, through his production company So Pro Studios. Williams and film director Marcus Raboy (Friday After Next, Carlos Mencia: New Territory) produced the one-hour special, which taped on New Year’s Eve in front of more than 7,000 fans at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

“I always enjoy providing my fans with the quality experience and the high-caliber work ethic they expect of me and then give them something extra,” said Williams. “I, along with my production team of Lance, Stevie and Lena, are excited about our collaboration with eOne and our venture into a variety of projects. With my team’s creative and their industry expertise—I think we’ll do great things.”

“I have had the privilege of collaborating with Katt in the past and I have never worked with a more powerful and thought-provoking comic,” said Allen Blackwell, the VP of urban film and comedy programming at eOne U.S. “In my opinion, Katt has been the most important comedian over the last decade. His insight, innovation and ability to communicate with fans from all walks of life while touching popular culture is unmatched.”
