CTV to Air First Hunger Games Film

TORONTO: The first installment of The Hunger Games franchise is set to air on Canada’s CTV on November 4, ahead of the theatrical release of the film series’ latest chapter.

The original The Hunger Games is due out on CTV, CTV.ca and CTV GO. The 2012 blockbuster starring Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is set in a futuristic world in which every year a teenaged boy and girl from different districts are chosen to participate in a televised death match. The franchise’s third installment, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part I, debuts November 21.

A week before that date, on November 14, CTV’s entertainment-news show etalk is slated to air a half-hour original special dedicated to the new movie. The special will feature interviews with the stars of the franchise, including Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks and Donald Sutherland.
