Canal+ Preps Online SVOD Service for Canada

PARIS: Canal+ is teaming up with the online video platform Dailymotion to launch a web-based SVOD service in Canada, delivering its original series as well as feature films, docs and more.

Canal+ Canada will offer up films, series, docs and entertainment shows in French. For C$7.99 a month, subscribers can have unlimited access to a library of French and European films, plus originals like Les Revenants, Maison Close, The Tunnel and Braquo. There will also be the doc series Les Nouveaux Explorateurs and the investigative magazine Spécial Investigation.

Alternatively, users can purchase individual movies for C$2.99 each. Canal+ Canada will also offer free access to comedy, information and entertainment fare.

The service launches next month.
