TORONTO: Ahead of the launch of the new Corus Entertainment service ABC Spark in Canada, a trio of networks—YTV, W Network and CMT—have slated nested blocks featuring the channel’s exclusive programming.

Starting January 16, YTV, W Network and CMT will air blocks of exclusive programming to be featured on ABC Spark, which launches in late March. YTV will be running the ABC Family hit Switched at Birth every Monday at 9 p.m. W Network will air the series every Saturday at 12 p.m. starting January 21. CMT viewers can watch Melissa & Joey Monday to Friday at 8:30 p.m.

ABC Spark will be available in Canada based on a license agreement with Disney/ABC Television Group. The new 24-hour channel will have the same look, tone and feel of the U.S. ABC Family channel.

"ABC Family has built their success as a top-rated cable service in the U.S. with seven consecutive years of growth, based on a brand that offers audiences quality shows and movies that reflect optimism, heart and humor. It is compelling and relatable programming that speaks to the millennial generation and beyond," said Susan Schaefer, the VP and head of networks and marketing at Corus Entertainment. "As we build towards the March launch of ABC Spark, we are thrilled to be able to give audiences a taste of some of the brand’s most popular series, never before seen in Canada."
