Canada’s Global Buys Prodigal Son & Evil

Among the new series revealed by Global in Canada for its 2019-2020 slate are the U.S. freshman dramas Prodigal Son and Evil.

The crime thriller Prodigal Son, which stars Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex) and Tom Payne (The Walking Dead), was licensed from Warner Bros., and the psychological mystery Evil from CBS Studios International.

Season three of 9-1-1 is paired with Prodigal Son on Monday nights on Global, with the legal drama Bull closing out the night.

The network’s Tuesday night schedule remains unchanged, with NCIS: New Orleans and NCIS, paired with the sophomore seasons of  FBI and New Amsterdam.

On Wednesdays, Survivor returns for a 39th season, while the final season of Modern Family and the sophomore season of Single Parents find a new home on Global. S.W.A.T. wraps up the night.

Thursdays feature a two-hour comedy block, with Superstore, followed by the newcomers The Unicorn, starring Walton Goggins (Justified), and Carol’s Second ActEvil closes out the evening.

Fridays see the return of established hits Hawaii Five-0The Blacklist and SEAL Team.  

Saturday Night Live returns on Saturdays. On Sundays, Kids Say the Darndest Things joins the returning staples NCIS: Los Angeles and the final season of the political drama Madam Secretary.

For midseason, the lineup includes the return of MacGyverWill & Grace and Man With a PlanAlso joining the 2020 slate are the six-part original event series Departure, the original series Nurses, the new Edie Falco-led police drama Tommy, the freshman comedy Broke and the FBI spin-off FBI: Most Wanted.
