Breakthrough Names New Development Exec

TORONTO: Breakthrough Entertainment has hired Diane Boehme to serve as its senior development executive of scripted, features and factual, which is a newly created position.

Boehme will be based in Breakthrough’s Toronto headquarters and will supervise development of prime-time drama and comedy, feature films and factual series. She joins Breakthrough from program development at EBTV, the television production-distribution joint venture between Essential Pictures and Brightlight Pictures. Boehme also served as the senior director of independent production for CHUM Television and as the director of original production for TMN: The Movie Network and HBO Canada.
