TORONTO: Bell Media has ramped up the comedy offerings on its SVOD service launching later this year, announcing an exclusive Canadian streaming pact for Seinfeld.

The service, code-named Project Latte, will be the exclusive Canadian streaming home of all 180 episodes of the Sony Pictures Television series. “We are very proud to deliver the genre-defining series to Canadians in this landmark deal,” said Mike Cosentino, senior VP of programming at Bell Media.

Bell Media says Project Latte will be home to more than 225 comedy titles—about 25 percent of the entire catalogue. Following the previously announced deal to be the home of the entire Monty Python catalogue, the service has also shored up the Comedy Central slate of past-season and library hits, among them Key & Peele and Broad City. It has also done deals with BBC Worldwide, CBS Studios International, Eagle Rock Entertainment, HBO, Lionsgate and Warner Bros. International Television.

Highlights include classics like Cheers, Everybody Loves Raymond and the Canadian hit Corner Gas; past seasons of current shows The Big Bang Theory, Anger Management and The Goldbergs; HBO's off-air comedy library; British favorites Fawlty Towers and Absolutely Fabulous; stand-up comedy specials and pop-culture faves 30 Rock, Community and Weeds.
