MONTREAL: The Canadian production outfit Attraction Images has purchased LP8 Média, producers of such shows as The Parents and A Star's Life in Lyrics.

Attraction Images houses a number of entertainment production companies, with a catalogue of more than 1,200 hours of TV, 13 feature films and more than 20 digital projects thus far. The group is behind successful movies such as C.R.A.Z.Y. and international TV formats such as Family Harmony and Music to My Years. LP8 Média, formerly known as La Presse Télé, was owned by Square Victoria Digital Properties. It now joins the Attraction Images fold.

Marleen Beaulieu, LP8 Média's president, has been named the new president of Attraction Images, replacing its president and founding partner Josée Vallée, who will now devote herself full-time to the development, acquisition and production of TV drama and comedy and feature films.

“The know-how of LP8 Média combined with the expertise of Attraction Images will allow us to create improved original content, better answer broadcasters’ needs and grow internationally,” said Richard Speer, the president and founder of Attraction group.

Beaulieu added: “This alliance is very natural since we share so many creative values. I am excited to take over as president of a production company of this magnitude. We have a team of passionate and talented people who'll make sure we can respond to ever-greater demands that will be made on the quality of our content, on every platform.”
