HONG KONG: Ex-Universal Networks International programming director Marianne Lee is joining Turner International Asia Pacific in May to serve as the pan-regional broadcast group's VP of general entertainment content.

Lee is tasked with executing the content and channel strategy for Turner's general entertainment brands in the region: WarnerTV (a new addition to the Turner stable), TCM Turner Classic Movies and truTV. Lee reports to Ricky Ow, the president of Turner International Asia Pacific.

On Lee's appointment, Ow noted: “With WarnerTV now a Turner brand, she arrives at a critical time to build on its existing number one ranking and to develop our entertainment-brand bouquet even further. Under her leadership, we can look forward to Turner’s entertainment channels scaling greater heights of audience appeal and excitement, as well as more new offerings.”

Lee will move from Singapore to Hong Kong to fill the new role. Most recently she was director of programming and acquisitions at Universal Networks International. She also spent several years at Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia, and at TVB in Hong Kong.
