PARIS/SYDNEY: STUDIOCANAL has appointed Elizabeth Trotman, who has held posts at Disney, Warner Bros. and BBC Worldwide, as CEO of Australia and New Zealand.

Trotman had been serving as general manager of sales and marketing at STUDIOCANAL in New Zealand. In this new post, she will report to Rodolphe Buet, STUDIOCANAL’s president of international marketing and distribution for films, library and TV series. Her appointment is effective March 14. She succeeds Robert Slaviero, who is exiting the company.

Buet said: “I am very pleased with the appointment of Elizabeth as the head of Australia and New Zealand. Elizabeth has a perfect understanding of STUDIOCANAL’s local activities and teams, and we have faith in her marketing experience and expertise, as well as her international profile, to help the studio cross a new threshold in this part of the world. In addition to strengthening our local distribution activities, she will be responsible for initiating and developing local film production, which is strategic for us as a complement to our international production policy.”

Trotman commented: “I am thrilled to have this opportunity to lead the talented teams at STUDIOCANAL in Australia and New Zealand. We are operating in a rapidly changing media environment that represents both opportunity and challenges. STUDIOCANAL is a leading global provider of quality content across both film and television, so we are well positioned for growth in the Australasian market. A major focus for me will be to build and implement strategies that will enhance our growth in this diverse entertainment environment.”
