Sky News HD Joins StarHub Lineup

SINGAPORE: The launch of Sky News HD on StarHub on January 17 marks the first high-definition news channel to transmit in Singapore.

The service will broadcast live video feeds from developing stories, graphics that enhance coverage and real-time text analysis from Sky News correspondents during live speeches and events. The channel begins to transmit as of January 17 at 6 a.m. on StarHub TV’s Channel 757.

“We are proud to be the first in Singapore to debut a dedicated news channel in high definition. As the country’s leading pay-TV operator, we delight in exceeding our customers’ ever-increasing expectations for quality programming,” said Sandie Lee, StarHub’s VP of content. “To mark the occasion, we will be offering a free preview of the channel to our World News Basic Upsize Group customers until June 30, 2012.”
