SYDNEY: Kerry Kingston, who has spent ten years as the chief operating officer of Australia’s Network Ten, is resigning from the role, to be replaced by Jon Marquard.

Marquard joined Network Ten late last year as commercial and legal director. Kingston is leaving the post in late April, prompted by the relocation of the COO role from Melbourne to Sydney. "It’s not possible for me to relocate to Sydney at this point in time," Kingston said. "After ten great years at Ten, it is a good time to try something different. I will take some time off, spend time with my family after a hectic year, and then look for new challenges."

Tony McMaster has been named chief marketing officer for Network Ten, taking on the newly created role in April 2. McMaster is a former director of marketing for McDonald’s Australia and spent spent several years running his own businesses in the retail and marketing sectors.

Both Marquard and McMaster will report to James Warburton, the CEO of Network Ten. “Jon’s promotion and Tony’s appointment are important steps in the re-setting of our management team,” Warburton said. “I’d personally like to thank Kerry for his important contribution to the company over the past decade and wish him all the very best for the future.”
