TOKYO: With the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games just three years away, NHK World TV is introducing new programs about the host city and its neighboring prefectures that will air under the theme One Step from Tokyo.

The three-part Tokyo Eye 2020 will shine the spotlight on Kawasaki, Omiya and Funabashi. The profile of Kawasaki (Kanagawa Prefecture) will look at a new complex created with international tourists in mind, while the Omiya (Saitama Prefecture) coverage includes a railway museum and Japan’s leading producer of rubber masks. The Funabashi (Chiba Prefecture) program highlights the port city’s market and the streets around a big temple.

Also part of the One Step from Tokyo programming, J-Trip Plan will visit lesser-known attractions of the three prefectures in three days. Cycle Around Japan will focus on the journey to Izu-oshima from Tokyo.
