CANNES: NHK Enterprises (NEP) and Thailand's MCOT have signed a deal for the science-entertainment format The New Anatomy Show that includes co-production of a Thai version.

Together the companies will develop the format for teenagers. The one-hour Thai iteration will air weekly in prime time on MCOT's free-to-air terrestrial channel Modernine starting January 2014.

Anek Permvongseni, MCOT's president, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to collaborate with NHK Enterprises on The New Anatomy Show, which is a high-quality edutainment program. I am confident that the success of this program will strengthen Modernine’s lineup for audiences, especially the teenage audience.”

Fumio Narashima, NEP’s senior corporate officer for international sales, added: “I’m happy that we’re going ahead since the deal after three years of negotiations. I’m looking forward to seeing how the young audience in Thailand enjoys our program.”
