Christine Fellowes, NBCUniversal Television’s managing director for Asia Pacific, will serve as the inaugural chairperson of the Asian Academy Creative Awards Skills Development Program.

Fellowes joins Turner International Asia Pacific’s president, Ricky Ow, who is the inaugural chairman of Awards. The initiative will utilize funds raised from the newly established Asian Academy Creative Awards to run training and development programs for next-gen content makers. The Asian Academy Awards will also support a paid intern program for media and communications students.

An industry briefing will be held at Pixel in Singapore this week, and details of the awards will be revealed. The Asian Academy Awards are also expected to unveil details regarding master classes and industry panels. The awards ceremony will be hosted from December 6 to 7 as part of the Singapore Media Festival.

“I’m extremely passionate about training and mentoring and I’m delighted to lend my support to the Academy’s work in developing our industry’s next wave of content makers,” Fellowes said.

“I’m so thrilled to see so many people supporting the Asian Academy Creative Awards and Christine getting behind the Academy’s Skills Development Program is a great example of an industry-wide initiative to promote and develop Asia’s immense creative talent,” commented Ow.
