Malaysia’s subscription video-on-demand service dimsum is due to debut in Singapore via StarHub Go, an entertainment video streaming platform.

StarHub is the first partner to release a “lite” version of the SVOD service, offering productions from China, Thailand, Japan and Korea. Titles available in Singapore will include the Japanese drama Love-Rerun, the Korean web show High End Crush and the Thai idol drama You Are My Destiny, among others. Content will be offered in HD with English, Chinese and Malay subtitles.

Singapore marks the third country to launch dimsum after Malaysia and Brunei.

Lam Swee Kim, the chief marketing officer at dimsum, said: “We are very happy to partner [with] StarHub, and excited that StarHub Go users will be the first in Singapore to watch the latest and popular content on dimsum. This addition is significant in our long-term goal to expand dimsum to regional audiences.”

“dimsum is a recognized video streaming service in Malaysia and our collaboration will give StarHub Go customers even more reason to cheer,” added Justin Ang, the head of product at StarHub. “We are always looking to add fresh content to the service and are confident that dimsum will expand the breadth and depth of our StarHub Go offering. In addition to new Thai dramas, StarHub Go Select customers can look forward to hours of programming from China, Japan and Korea at no additional cost.”
